SURE SEAL® G-SHIELD PREMIUM®
Non-Sacrificial Protective Coating
SURE SEAL® G-SHIELD PREMIUM® is an advanced anti-graffiti protective coating developed through the joint R&D efforts of one of the largest chemical manufacturers in Germany and Sure Seal Sealants Australia, a leader in the protective coating industry globally. This product delivers an impermeable defense against adhesion of spray paints, permanent markers, inks, brake fluids and dyes and grime on non-porous metal, painted* and plastic surfaces.
Benefits:
- Non-sacrificial and durable
- Non-damaging to the surface
- Transparent on the surface
- Chemical resistant – resists acid and alkaline cleaning products
- Does not contain fluorine, wax, polyurethane, silicone
- Air dry curing or room temperature curing
- Coverage from 50-80 sq. metres per litre
- Excellent adhesion to ferrous/non-ferrous metals, galvanized metals, glass, painted* and plastic surfaces
- Single coat application
- UV light resistance
- Non-peeling; non-yellowing; non-blushing so there is no substrate alteration
- Easy to clean
- Resists weathering
Uses:
Apply to painted or metal surfaces such as trains, buses, metal facades and shutters, containers and trailers, marine vessels. On signage such as traffic/road signs, plastic coated signs; Perspex, sound barriers, bridges, public use facilities, restrooms, playgrounds, recreational areas, pools and on synthetic materials such as bus shelters, display cases or cabinets, bus stop benches, vending machines.
Application:
Ready to use product. Do not dilute. Apply to clean, dry surface only. Before application to a large area, apply a test patch to confirm adhesion and compatibility. Wrap a micro-fibre cloth tightly around the end of a squeegee or similar. Apply to the area in an even motion starting from the bottom of the surface to the top. If a small area is missed in the application, only reapply when the product is still wet (usually within 15 minutes). If the area does dry, use a 3M buffing pad using a light buffing motion to remove any residue with cloth or by using acetone or isopropyl alcohol and then re-coat. DO NOT USE WATER in the cleaning. You do not have to wipe away residue completely. Application can also be done by the use of a gravity fed sprayer, gun pressure: 25-40 psi (depending on spray gun). The nozzle size should be 1.3 mm and fan width adjusted to obtain an even spray. For best results, use only a thin 2 coat for application. Dilution of the product and re-coating are not necessary. Can be applied over dull surfaces to renew their luster and shine without causing any demarcation lines from the old to new finish.
Coverage and curing times:
One litre will cover approximately 50-80 sq. metres. One thin coat (5-7 UM) required for optimum protection. The coating is touch dry after one hour; full performance is achieved after 7 days curing at room temperature or air drying. Active in repelling graffiti in 24 hours.
Maintenance:
Use Sure Seal® liquid Graffiti Remover to clean treated surfaces. Apply onto the affected area and leave for a few minutes. The unwanted graffiti will dissolve and can be simply washed off using low water pressure. If necessary, repeat the process to remove any last traces. Polishing agents, abrasive agents and sharp-edged implements must not be used as they can damage the protective coating and the underlying surface. It is also possible to use a high-pressure cleaning machine no more than 1400 psi. In this case, it will be necessary to maintain a distance of 60cm from the surface and to direct the water stream so that it hits the surface at a low angle. This makes it even easier to remove soiling.
Cleanup and Disposal:
To clean up tools, use mineral spirits. When disposing of any leftover coating, empty any onto a microfiber cloth, and then allow the cloth to dry. Collect and dispose of in a solid waste bucket in accordance with appropriate State authority. Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. Do not allow entry to drains, waterways, sewers or soil.
